Ivan Kyurkchiev, piano
The Bulgarian pianist Ivan Kyurkchiev is renowned for his subtle, authentic artistic style. He has a large range of experience as a soloist, chamber music player, accompanist and singers coach in Europe, North America and Asia.
He is alumni of Royal Conservatory, Brussels in the class of the esteemed professor of piano, old instruments and improvisation - Boyan Vodenitcharov and University of Music and Performing Arts, Munich in the class of the renowned piano duo Yaara Tal and Andreas Groethuysen.
In 2007 Ivan formed an artistic collaboration with the Bulgarian pianist Antoniya Yordanova remaining as his main ensemble. The Debut CD Album of the Duo Yordanova & Kyurkchiev - “Synergy”, produced by the M Music Records Label in Munich was released in April, 2017. Ivan is a top-prize winner of several International piano competitions: Absolute First Prize Winner at the “Roma” International Piano Competition of “F. Chopin” Foundation, Rome ; First Prize Winner at the “TIM” International Musical Tournament, Paris; Second Prize Winner at the Chicago Institute Piano Duo Competition, Chicago; Third Prize Winner at the “Allegro Vivo” International Piano Competition, San Marino and at the “F. Schubert” Piano Duo Competition in Jesenik, Czech Republic; Special Prizes at the Chamber Music Competition “S. Taneyev” in Kaluga/Moscow, Russia and others.
Ivan refined his musical visions by personal influence of renowned musicians as Georgy Nador, Adrian Brendel, Peter Brechbühler, Georg Friedrich Schenck, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Ronon O’Hora, Emanuel Krasovsky, Viktor Derevianko, Yuval Admony, Tami Kanazawa and others.
Lately he has appeared on concerts in famous venues like Nichols Concert Hall in Chicago, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Xuzhou and Harbin Concert Halls in China, National Theatre of Saint Charles in Lisbon, Swan Hall in the Sintra’s National Palace, Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow and others.
Ivan has been guest artist at renowned festivals like “Reger Musik Tage’, Bayreuth, Germany; “Richard Strauss” Festival in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany; Festival de Sintra, Portugal; “Tel-Hai” Piano Festival in Sde Boker/Tel-Aviv, Israel; “Varna Summer” in Varna, Bulgaria, “Motif” Concert Series, Sofia, Bulgaria and others.
His performances have been broadcasted on the Bavarian Radio, Tel - Aviv Radio, Bulgarian National Television, Bulgarian National Radio, San Marino Television Telepace, WFMT Chicago Radio and Vatican Radio.
